In June of 2007 the City celebrated the opening of Heritage Park, which was named in honor of the area's past, present and future. (See the June 2007 article published in Renton's Historical Society & Museum Quarterly.) Located southeast of Renton Technical College in the Highlands, with play structures, climbing boulders, a picnic shelter, sports facilities, and paved and forested walking paths, the park provides the public with a thriving and beautiful park to enjoy.
