The Development Services Division creates and maintains a safe and pleasant physical environment by: ensuring compliance with codes and land use regulations; providing a public information counter; planning review of new construction; and issuing building permits and inspections.
The staff of the Development Services Division - including public works plan reviewers, building section representatives, and code compliance officers - are committed to providing exceptional customer service. This team is trained in both code administration and permitting processes and is available to assist citizens or business owners with questions or concerns throughout the permit process.
The Development Services Division is located on the 6th floor of Renton City Hall. Permit Counter hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., financial transactions hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Many resources are available to the public in the customer service area. These include land use application forms, critical areas maps, public utilities maps and a computer terminal providing access to our online permitting program.
