The Facilities Division maintains, and assists with construction of projects, at city buildings and parks facilities buildings. The division is responsible for projects as small as repairing a leaky faucet or as large as the construction of a brand-new building. The staff in the Facilities Division work hard to make sure that City of Renton residents and employees have clean, safe, pleasant places to play and work.
The City's Facility Division has a group of well-trained employees who keep the buildings clean, make repairs as necessary, and complete smaller improvement projects. On any given day they might be scrubbing toilets, replacing fuses, painting over graffiti, or even setting up equipment for large events such as Renton River Days.
For most larger projects, the City usually hires outside contractors to come in and perform the work. Some examples are: installing new roofs, laying new carpet, or even constructing an entire new building.
