This project will install a High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signal at the intersection of Duvall Ave. NE and NE 12th Street, which is a beacon that remains dark unless a pedestrian activates the pushbutton. The improvements include the HAWK system, installation of Crosswalk, pedestrian ramps per current ADA standards and traffic signal adjustments upstream and downstream of the project to interconnect to the City's signal system. This project will also construct curb ramps including accessible pedestrian signals (APS) and countdown pedestrian signals (CPS) per current ADA standards, and related pedestrian facilities, at various intersections.
Schedule
The design of the Citywide Safety Improvement Project should complete by April 2014 and construction should begin in July 2014.
