This pavement preservation project consisted of asphalt milling, installation of approximately 4,500 tons of asphalt overlay and updating 18 curb ramps, utility adjustments, and new pavement markings on SW Grady Way between Longacres Drive SW and Rainier Avenue (SR 167).
The work along SW Grady consisted of removing layers of pavement and repaving (Mill and Overlay*), upgrades, and replacement of ADA ramps, pedestrian push-buttons, and striping of the new asphalt.
- The ADA ramp work was completed July of 2015.
- The Mill and Overlay pavement work was completed August of 2015.
- The utility adjustments and striping were completed September of 2015.
The city contracted with Parametrix, Inc. to provide Construction Management Services and Lakeside Industries Asphalt Paving Company to perform this work.
Partial funding for this project was provided from a Federal Aid Grant.
*Mill and Overlay treatment begins with removing a certain thickness of the damaged existing asphalt. Then this thickness is replaced with new asphalt to create a new surface.

The City of Renton hereby gives public notice that it is the Agency’s policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987, and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Title VI requires that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, or national origin be excluded from the participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any Federal Aid Highway program or other activity for which the City of Renton receives federal financial assistance.
Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with the City of Renton. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with the City of Renton Title VI Coordinator within one hundred, eighty (180) days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence.
